My husband and I decided to take a little time to explore the town this time ;-) and of course, I took my camera!
We love Bob and Tony's Pizza - they have something for everyone - including Gluten Free options - and it a fun place! Check out that snow!!!
This is the Park Theatre: The oldest Motion Picture Theatre in the US - Construction was begun in 1913 by J.L. Jackson and was completed by CH Bond. It has survived all sort of events including floods and still stands!
Don't you just love that there are towering mountains right behind it - such a beautiful place!
They have such fun shops - I mean Candy and Christmas ... right close to each other - it doesn't really get any better does it??? well..... maybe.....
There are three taffy shops in Estes - but THIS! is the Original and they are the only shop that makes their taffy on site! And it is yummy!!! This store has used the same mysterious and highly guarded recipe for 81 years, and it is so soft and tasty! This sign and these buildings are part of the historic Estes Park - and so wonderful to visit!!
Isn't this a sweet store??? I was just mesmerized!
And Inside - this is the machine they use to cut and wrap the taffy
I was going to include a picture of our Taffy.... bu mysteriously - our box was empty by the time we got down the mountain.... We had Salted Caramel, Rootbeer, and of course.... Chocolate!
PS - want to order some? Go to Original Taffy Shop - they will hook you up!!
Here is just another lovely view of the town, I just love that it is nestled right in the mountains!
And look at that - if you get cold - you have another little place to stop at!! I think, you had better walk a lot in this town, because all the yummy stops will fill you up!!
We also stopped at a cute shop that all they sold was socks, but I was so enamored by all the socks I forgot to take a photo!
If you ever get a chance to tour this town - I highly recommend it! I am heading back soon.... and will definitely get more taffy!

I love to wander through places like that. The art deco is fun to see along with the other styles of architecture.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a fun town to explore. But like you said, I think you'd have to do an awful lot of walking to combat the additional pounds you'll gain stopping at all of the sweets shops!
ReplyDeleteWhat a totally cute town. I have been to colorado many times, but never here!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, Alycia! The town is adorable. I'm glad you enjoyed the taffy. :) #ourworldtuesday
